Before you ring

Find your stopcock now, before you need it. In most Irish houses it's under the kitchen sink. Turn it off and on once so you know it moves. If a pipe is dripping, put a basin under it and turn off the isolating valve on that pipe if there is one. A photo of the leak and the pipes around it helps Arek tell you what he needs to bring.

Older houses

Uisce Éireann says lead was often used for plumbing up to and including the 1970s (Uisce Éireann).
